TYTON JOINT Ductile Iron Pipe

TYTON JOINT Ductile Iron Pipe

TYTON JOINT® is U.S. Pipe’s trademark product for ductile iron pipe with a push-on type connection. Simplicity, sturdiness and water-tightness are built into the system by design. Convincing proof of its worldwide acceptance is shown by the fact that more than 95% of the pipe now sold by U.S. Pipe is TYTON JOINT Pipe. U.S. Pipe is the original creator of TYTON JOINT and first introduced it to the water works industry in 1956.

TYTON JOINT Pipe is available in sizes 3″ through 64″. Sizes 3″ through 42″ are available in nominal 18-foot laying lengths. 4″ through 30″ sizes, along with sizes 48″ through 64″, are available in nominal 20-foot laying lengths. TYTON JOINT uses our trademarked TYTON® gasket for normal applications, but is also compatible with our FIELD LOK 350® restrained gaskets for a restrained push-on connection. TYTON Joint Pipe is available with a variety of coatings and linings, including metallic zinc coating.

TYTON JOINT from U.S. Pipe is Made in the United States of America.

U.S. Pipe Fire Resistant Ductile Iron Pipe
On May 4th, fire study No. 3 was conducted at the U.S. Pipe Product Innovation test facility in Bessemer, Alabama. This study was conducted on two 6-ft long 8-inch HDSS® pipes assembled with the joint positioned in the center of the assembly. A standard SBR TYTON JOINT® gasket was used. The pipe ends were capped with MJ caps with MJ restraining glands. This study was conducted to determine the fire resistance and the survivability of a gasketed restrained joint using a modified version of the following ISO standards: ISO 19921- Ships and marine technology- Fire resistance of metallic pipe components with resilient and elastomeric seals- test methods and ISO 19922 – Ships and marine technology- Fire resistance of metallic pipe components with resilient and elastomeric seals- Requirements imposed on the test bench.
TYTON And TR FLEX Bridge Crossing In North Carolina
U.S. Pipe TYTON Joint and TR FLEX ductile iron pipe installed in a bridge crossing in Shelby, North Carolina. U.S. Pipe's restrained joint pipes with deflection like TR FLEX and HDSS are a key component in bridge crossings.
64" Pipe With P401 In South Carolina To Replace Concrete
U.S. Pipe ductile iron was chosen to replace a problematic pipeline made up of an alternative material that was allowing sand intrusion. The 64" TYTON Joint pipeline with Protecto 401 will take care of the wastewater needs for the Columbia South Carolina area for decades to come.
