Pennsylvania American Water Installation

Pennsylvania American Water expected to start another water main replacement project today in Lower Allen Twp., Cumberland County.

The $1,775,000-project involves installing a section of new water main line on Lisburn Road between Shetter Lane and Stone Gate Circle.

Pennsylvania American Water said the project “will improve water service reliability and fire protection for area residents and businesses.”

Crews will install almost 6,300 feet of  U.S. Pipe 16-inch ductile iron water main and several new hydrants. Work will be done between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays beginning Aug. 7. During construction, Pennsylvania American Water said, “customers might experience temporary water service interruptions, discolored water and/or lower than normal water pressure.”

Construction is expected to conclude in October and be followed by paving, weather permitting.
