SmartSPEAK Charlotte was held at the famous Carolinas Aviation Museum. We were pleased to have a huge attendance from the local municipalities and engineers. Topics included "Pipe design & Life Cycle Analysis", "Asset Management", "Corrosion and Stray Current", and a roundtable discussion to address any questions around the subject content.
After all the great discussions, the group adjourned to the museum section and enjoyed some great food and drink among industry professionals, while being surrounded by some amazing aeronautical history. The reception allowed everyone to converse about the day and the topics discussed. It was a great turnout and a fantastic time for all those who participated, and we are very thankful for the Charlotte area for inviting us.
SmartSPEAK Cleveland was graciously held at the Cleveland Water Works. With a cordial invite from the Water Works and with coordination from U.S. Pipe, local utilities and engineers were invited to listen to the Engineering discussions. The topics for Cleveland included "Using tolerable risk to drive asset management decision making", "Corrosion best practices", and "Considerations for repairing water pipes in place". The turn out was phenomenal and the conversations spiraled many follow-up discussions to provide more information.
Following the afternoon of discussions the group was invited to a private tour of the Cleveland Browns stadium. Food and drink was served in the private Club 46 lounge, and access to view and walk around the field was granted. Following some fantastics food and even better time to network and chat about the days discussions, a private tour of some of the club lounges followed, and then a tour of the locker room. It was a great finish to an even greater day.
We would like to thank Cleveland Water Works for hosting us at their main office and inviting us to come and speak.
